More birthday weekend

This is Lilla's new wagon and the lovely blanket that her friend Andrew made for her. It's the perfect size to cuddle with when we taking walks with the wagon. Thanks Andrew....she loves her new blankie.
Lilla was kissing her flowers.
Peek!
Where's Lilla?
Lilla's new toy from Chris and Meslissa....thanks guys, I LOVE it.

Birthday part 3

Thanks for the gifts everyone.....I'm kinda pooped out.
Look at her reading books to everyone....smartie pants. =)
I'm so funny!
She did pretty good at opening gifts, kinda didn't get the concept, actually didn't get the concept at all. Mom opened most of her presents.
Cards are fun.

Birthday Party part 2

Bailey got into the action.
I think she liked the hat so much she's smiling.
All done.....she did not demolish the cake at all, but she had a 45 min nap all day. Let's just say her patience was a little short.
Lilla didn't quite "get" the whole cake thing. I think she may have felt a little over-whelmed, but she did try it....a little.
This was the the cake I made for everyone who was not Lilla.

Birthday Party

So, for all you mom's out there who read this blog, here is something you should know. Byerly's (local grocery store in Mpls/St. Paul) will give your child a free 1st birthday cake for their birthday. This was Lilla's, marble cake with pink, red, and orange polka dots. Very cute. Thanls to Mollie, John's co-worker, who clued us into this fabulous deal!
Gracie being cute.
The family enjoying spagetti and meat balls, garlic bread, and chop salad.....yummy.
We put a birthday hat on Lilla and she lasted about one picture.....my dad had his on all night.

The birthday table before the feast.

Birthday baby...I mean toddler!

Lilla on her way to day care on the morning of her birthday. This is Lilla's new game with Elmo.
Day care had this sign on her door when we arrived.
This is Amber, one of Lilla's lovey day care providers. They are buddies.

Dad was a little more excited about Lilla's birthday then Lilla was.....kinda cute.

Birhtday part 2

Lilla enjoyed a feast of Sloppy Joe and mashed potatoes......yum. There were some broccoli sprigs in there too.
I love bread.....thanks mom and dad.
Lilla's new toy....a car/walking toy from Chris and Melissa.
Proud papa and happy 1 year old, all is good.....until....

We ordered some chocolate cake at the restaurant but it was too late to eat it last night, so we saved it for today. As you can tell, Lilla did eat some of it, and despite the sad face, she did enjoy it, however, she had just hit herself with a fork on the side of the head....poor thing. Usually she wouldn't start a melt down (because she BARELY grazed her forehead) but she also got her one year shots today, so you gotta feel for the girl. Here's to a better day tomorrow.

Ok, the video is a little long, but Lilla is quite priceless.
