Happy Halloween!

As always, John's hard at work with his boss Max, Wally "the Beer Man" and a good ole Miller Lite. Rough.
Our little froggy, Ms. Lilla.

Lilla kept walking away from me....I don't think she wanted to be in that costume at 7 AM, but what are you going to do?

A shout out to cousin Aspyn who let Lilla borrow her costume.....Thank you very much!

Steady!

Lilla dressed as a hot dog vendor (her Dad's costume).

Hello my name is Simon....and I like to do drawrings.

Meet Simon. Isn't he a hansome young gentlemen. This is my brother and sister's new bundle of joy, Simon Gary Volker. How cute is that? I can't wait to get my hands on him to give him lots o kisses.
The happy new family minus two little boys. My sister has coined the boys Avery and the chimpmunks, we'll see if that lasts. I'm sure Avery, Johna, and Simon are going to be a wonderful bunch of brothers. Congrats to Tom and Verna. P.S. Doesn't Verna look great? This picture has to be less then 12 hours after he was born. You go, girl.

Birthday part 3

Thanks for the gifts everyone.....I'm kinda pooped out.
Look at her reading books to everyone....smartie pants. =)
I'm so funny!
She did pretty good at opening gifts, kinda didn't get the concept, actually didn't get the concept at all. Mom opened most of her presents.
Cards are fun.

Birthday Party part 2

Bailey got into the action.
I think she liked the hat so much she's smiling.
All done.....she did not demolish the cake at all, but she had a 45 min nap all day. Let's just say her patience was a little short.
Lilla didn't quite "get" the whole cake thing. I think she may have felt a little over-whelmed, but she did try it....a little.
This was the the cake I made for everyone who was not Lilla.

Birthday Party

So, for all you mom's out there who read this blog, here is something you should know. Byerly's (local grocery store in Mpls/St. Paul) will give your child a free 1st birthday cake for their birthday. This was Lilla's, marble cake with pink, red, and orange polka dots. Very cute. Thanls to Mollie, John's co-worker, who clued us into this fabulous deal!
Gracie being cute.
The family enjoying spagetti and meat balls, garlic bread, and chop salad.....yummy.
We put a birthday hat on Lilla and she lasted about one picture.....my dad had his on all night.
