One of Lilla's many talents is washing the car....ok,not really. She really just wants to do whatever John and I are doing and since our car was one step up from a garbage dump she helped us out. This is where you can see the life and times of our busy little girls. We hope you enjoy watching our girls grow as much as we do.

Mother's Day
My godmother and aunt Joan, Mom, Aunt Sherry, Lilla, Grandma Volker and me.
John and I went to Herman this weekend to celebrate Mother's day. We were also able to visit all of my grandparents and the following pictures are from my grandma and grandpa Volker's farm. These are the two trees that you have to drive between when you get to their house.
and again
transposed...
I love the farm.
The old shed that is barly standing.
The old gas pump.
Their dog Lucky lives here.
Grandpa Lubben at the nusing home.
Grandpa Lubben and Dad. Grandpa looks a little scared, I think it's because he doesn't always know where he is....you see, he's slowly losing his mind....dementia. I don't think he actually remembers my name anymore, which is ok, but he knows he should and I think he knows that I'm his daughters child. That has to be quite frustrating when someone calls you Grandpa, but you're not sure who that person is....poor guy. I still get to have some great conversations about the past with him because he remembers a lot of it still. So, for now, we'll live there...in the past.
Four generations: Grandma Lubben, mom, me and Lilla.
Lilla taking a bath.
Daddy and Lilla.
Doug, Colette, Daddy and Lilla. These are some great pictures of the great mothers I've had influence my life. I know I've learned a lot from them over the years and I'm still learning everyday. I feel as though I really earned Mother's day this year.....for some reason. Don't ask me why???? I don't know, but I had a great day.

It's Spring, It's Spring....It's really Spring...or at least it was for two whole days!
Lilla with the Daisy hat I bought her Target for $1. I love a good deal, especially when it's so fun. Grace was the dog, Lilla just walked around with Grace attached to her.Wednesday, March 18, 2009

The dancers...
Again the dancers....and some wicked dreads.

Nothing to see here....
I'm not sure why this bothers me....it probably should not, but it is starting to get on my nerves....a little.
So, as we all know, Lilla has A LOT of hair, always has....probably always will. Now, I've never thought this was a big deal, I mean I've noticed that unlike most babies her age, yes, she does have longer hair then most. However, the comments from strangers need to stop. First it was, "wow, you're daughter has a lot of hair", then went to "did you dye your daughters hair" (because her hair when she was born was DARK BROWN, then grew in blonde....people thought we had her tips dyed....as if) now it's "she's so tiny" or "she doesn't even look real"???? So now, because she has long hair, people think she's 2 or 3 years old, when actually she's 17 months (and exactly the size she is supposed to be...not so tiny....actually she's 97 percentile) and they get disappointed when she can't say hi on command. Leave the girl alone strange people. I know you mean well, but enough is enough.
Anywho....I've now made a mental note to myself, no more commenting on other people's children, unless it is to say they are cute. =)
